RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 6, 2020 (WAFA) – The Israeli army killing of a 17-year-old boy in the southern West Bank city of Hebron yesterday was highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies today.
The papers said the boy was shot dead during confrontations in the center of the occupied city.
Al-Quds said confrontations between Palestinian civilians and Israeli soldiers were also reported in many other locations in the West Bank.
Al-Ayyam also said that an Israeli court ordered evacuation of two Palestinian families from their homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan and turn their building over to Jewish settlers, while al-Quds said the settlers want to take over more than five dunums of land where the building is located.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on Israeli military measures in the West Bank, including demolition of structures and ban on construction.
The paper highlighted on its frontpage President Mahmoud Abbas telling Fatah leaders that the Palestinian people and their leadership will not allow the “treacherous deal of the century to pass.”
The paper also highlighted remarks by Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh expressing appreciation for the position of Holland and the European Union from the American so-called deal of the century.
It said Tunisian demonstrated against the American deal.
It said the director of foreign policy in the Sudanese presidency resigned in protest against the meeting between Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu and the Sudanese leader Abdul Fattah al-Burhan.
Al-Quds said the Hamas military wing, Al Qassam Brigades, revealed that its Israeli prisoners were injured in the Israeli air attacks on the Gaza Strip in 2019.
Al-Ayyam said President Abbas is going to address the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday during which a resolution will be submitted for a vote on the violation of the deal of the century for international law.
It said Israel decreased the fishing area in Gaza from 15 nautical miles to 10 as a collective punishment for the releasing of incendiary balloons from Gaza into Israel.
