RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 06, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clear, pleasant and partially cloudy with a slight rise in temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate to active southwesterly wind prevails. Sea waves are medium to high.
Tonight’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy and relatively cold to very cold with a chance of scattered rain showers in several areas, especially the northern.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 6°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 16°C and a low of 5°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 11°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A polar cold front in expected to affect the region on Friday causing temperatures to plummet. Stormy and cold to very cold conditions are expected with rain on most districts accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Snowfall is expected on high mountains after midnight.
Saturday’s temperature is expected to further drop with stormy and cold to very cold conditions. Torrential rainfall is still expected on all districts, along with thunderstorms and occasional hail.
Another cold front is expected to affect the region on Sunday. Weather is expected to be very cold. Temperature is expected to be drop, becoming 9°C lower than its annual average. Rainfall is expected on most districts, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Snowfall is expected on high mountains after midnight.
PMD warns people against gusty winds, floods in valleys and low areas, low visibility due to fog formation and low clouds, slippery roads and frost formation on Sunday evening, and during Monday and Tuesday.
