RAMALLAH, January 27, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestinian officials’ reiterated rejection of the US-touted Mideast plan, which is designed to force Palestinians into submission to perpetual Israeli dominance, dominated the front page headlines in Monday’s issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
Al-Quds printed a main headline in red reading: Palestinians unanimously rejects the so-called deal of the century.
Spokesperson for Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh was reported in al-Quds pledging that the leadership would foil the attempts to liquidate the Palestinian question.
He was also reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida suggesting that the Palestinians could dissolve the Palestinian Authority in response to the plan.
He stated: “The leadership would examine all options, including the fate of the PA”, and that no deal could be implemented without the approval of the Palestinian people.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida spotlighted Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) Executive Committee Saeb Erekat’s tweets on the ill-famed plan.
Erekat was reported tweeting that US President Donald Trump’s administration is “trying to make peace between Netanyahu and Gantz ]in order for the three of them to dictate an apartheid regime on the Palestinian people.”
He was also reported warning that Trump’s administration is legitimizing and supporting the Israeli colonial-settlement constriction and annexation of the West Bank to finish off the Palestinian question.
He was also reported in al-Ayyam noting that Israel’s annexation of the West Bank signals its withdrawal from the Oslo Accords and all other signed agreements.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida said that an Israeli court issued a ruling ordering the Dweik family to evacuate their property in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan to allow settlers’ takeover of the property.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that two Palestinian minors were injured with Israeli military gunfire during a raid into Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron.
Al-Quds added that Israeli forces stationed along Gaza’s frontier shot and injured a Palestinian in Beit Hanoun in the northern besieged enclave.
The dailies said that Israeli warplanes targeted farmlands located to the east of Rafah city in the southern besieged enclave.
Al-Ayyam said that Israeli bulldozers demolished a water collection well in Az-Zawiya village, located to the west of Salfit city.
It elaborated that Israeli forces issued orders to demolish scores of other wells in the village, making 2,400 dunams of farmlands susceptible to land grab.
According to al-Ayyam, Israeli occupation authorities placed head of the Higher Islamic Council in Jerusalem and former Mufti Sheikh Ekrema Sabri under interrogation for four hours.
Al-Quds added that Palestinians banned entry into flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound decide to violate the orders issued by Israeli occupation authorities.
According to al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida, President Mahmoud Abbas extended his condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdo?an over victims of earthquake in Turkey.
The dailies highlighted Israeli interior minister’s decision to aloe Israelis to travel to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage and trade purposes.
The Palestinian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry was reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida affirming that the Palestinian community and students in China have not contracted corona virus.
Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz was reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam reaffirming his country’s constants towards the Palestinian question, which have been expressed in the “three Royal noes”.
The “three royal noes” are: no alternative homeland, no settlement for Palestinian refugees and no meddling with Jordan’s custodianship of Jerusalem.
According to al-Quds, Qatar disbursed financial aid to 70,000 impoverished families in the besieged Gaza Strip.
