Weather forecast: Cloudy, rainy conditions continue

 

RAMALLAH, Friday, January 24, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is cloudy and very cold with a significant drop in temperature which remains unseasonably low, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Scattered rainfall, which could be torrential, along with thunderstorms and occasional hail are still expected. The rain will taper off towards the evening and night. Active northwesterly wind prevails in daytime with occasional gusts, and becomes moderate in nighttime. Sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 7°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 6°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 7°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 7°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A slight rise is expected in temperature on Saturday, yet partly cloudy and very cold conditions continue to prevail.

Sunday’s temperature is set to further rise and become seasonal, with partly cloudy to clear and very cold conditions, particularly in the early morning hours.

A further slight rise in temperature is expected on Monday, paving the way to partly cloudy and relatively cold conditions in daytime and very cold conditions, particularly in the early morning hours and night hours.

PMD warns people against the risk of flash floods in flood-prone areas, gusty winds, slippery roads, low visibility and the formation of frost in late night and early morning hours on Saturday and Sunday.
