RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 22, 2020 (WAFA0 – The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank slightly decreased by 0.03% in 2019 compared with 2018, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
CCI for non-residential buildings also decreased by 0.10% in 2019 compared with 2018 and for skeleton buildings by 0.97%, it added.
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank decreased by 0.79% in 2019 compared with 2018 and the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.31%, while the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) increased by 0.25%. it added.
PCBS said CCI for residential buildings has increase by 0.32% in the West Bank during December 2019 compared with November of the same year.
At the level of major groups, labor costs and wages increased by 1.94%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.46%, and the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.33% during December compared with the previous month.
CCI for non-residential buildings increased in December by 0.27% compared with November as labor costs and wages increased by 1.94%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.40%, and the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.35%.
CCI for skeleton buildings also increased by 0.34% in the West Bank during December compared with November with labor costs and wages increasing by 2.07%, while rental of equipment decreasing by 0.45%, and the prices of raw materials decreasing by 0.30% during December compared with the previous month.
RCI also increased by 0.05% in the West Bank during December compared with November with labor costs and wages increasing by 0.56%, operating costs of equipment and maintenance increasing by 0.42%, and rental of equipment slightly increasing by 0.06%, while the prices of raw materials slightly decreasing by 0.05%.
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) increased by 1.33% in the West Bank during December compared with November and Water Networks Cost Index increased by 1.91%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.12% during December compared with the previous month.
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.18% in the West Bank during December 2019 compared with November, said the PCBS.
