RAMALLAH, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today detained 16 Palestinians in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
It said in a press release that Israeli forces rounded up nine Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.
Local sources elaborated that Israeli military vehicles raided Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, where soldiers rounded up five Palestinians, including three minors and the secretary-general of Fatah movement for northern Hebron.
Sources confirmed a similar Israeli military raid in Deir Samet village, south of Hebron city, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian man.
The three others from the Hebron district, identified as former prisoners, were rounded up from their hometown of Beit Ummar town, north of the city.
In the northern West Bank, PPS said that two former prisoners were rearrested from Tulkarm district. One was identified as a resident of Tulkarm city and the other as a resident of Nur Shams refugee camp, east of the city.
In Tubas district, three Palestinians were rounded up in a predawn military raid in Tubas city.
In Nablus district, Israeli troops barged their way into Burin town, south of Nablus city, where they rearrested a former prisoner.
Troops rounded up another Palestinian after storming and thoroughly searching his house in Zawata town, north of the city.
