RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 17, 2019 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas phoned injured photojournalist Moath Amarneh, who lost his left eye after being seriously injured by Israeli forces’ fire, and checked on his health condition.

President Abbas condemned the Israeli forces’ attack against ‘Amarneh, wishing him a speedy recovery and assuring him that he has instructed all competent authorities, including the minister of health, to provide him with all the necessary and required treatment.

Amarneh lost his left eye after being seriously injured by a metallic bullet fired by an Israeli soldier in the Surif region of the Hebron governorate, where he was covering a protest against land confiscation. He underwent an operation to remove the bullet, which seems to have settled near the brain causing the operation to be more difficult. More operations are expected in the coming days.
