RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 17, 2019 (WAFA) – The ongoing solidarity events with the Gaza Strip after the recent Israeli aggression that killed 34 Palestinians hit the front pages of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies today.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Ayyam and al-Quds said that dozens of Palestinians were injured on Saturday from teargas inhalation fired by Israeli soldiers at a protest against Israel’s attacks on Gaza, noting that students from Birzeit University demonstrated at the Israeli army checkpoint in Ramallah and were attacked with teargas, causing dozens of injuries.
The papers said that students in Gaza organized a sit-in to condemn Israel‘s crimes against education, most notably the recent Israeli airstrike on the Strip which killed six students and left many injured.
Israeli warplanes attacked early Saturday several targets throughout the besieged Gaza Strip causing heavy damage to the locations but no bodily harm, according to the papers.
The dailies said that President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his condolences to al-Abu Malhous Sawarkeh family, who lost eight of its members in an airstrike carried out by Israeli warplanes in Gaza.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds reported on photojournalist Moath Amarneh, who lost his left eye after being seriously injured by a metallic bullet fired by an Israeli soldier in the Surif region of the Hebron governorate, where he was covering a protest against land confiscation.
