RAMALLAH, Tuesday, October 29, 2019 (WAFA) – The shooting of a Palestinian by Israeli police following an alleged stabbing attempt dominated the front page headlines in Tuesday’s issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
The dailies reported that Israeli police shot and injured a Palestinian young man following an alleged stabbing attempt in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The latest spate of Israeli settlers’ violence against Palestinians in the West Bank also hit the front page headlines.
The dailies elaborated that settlers attacked Palestinian houses with rocks in Kifl Haris village, north of Salfit city.
They added that settlers spray-painted racist hate graffiti on the walls of a house in Huwwara village, south of Nablus city.
Al-Quds also reported that the guards of the illegal settlement of Kedumim, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, assaulted Palestinian farmers.
According to al-Quds, Israeli military vehicles infiltrated the Gaza frontier and reached dozens of meters into Palestinian land east of Jabalya town in the northern besieged Gaza Strip.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported that Israeli forces demolished part of the wall of Tahaddi (Challenge) 17 School in Thaher al-Maleh village, southwest of Jenin.
The dailies highlighted the financial crisis forcing Augusta Victoria Hospital, also known as Al-Mutala Hospital, in Jerusalem to stop providing treatment for cancer patients beginning October 3.
Al-Quds said that Palestinians staged a rally at the hospital demanding an immediate solution to the issue of cancer patients.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported that the Palestinian cabinet decides to wire NIS350 million to the private sector suppliers, including hospitals, to pay off part of the debts it owes them.
According to al-Quds, Chairman of the Qatari Committee for Gaza Reconstruction Mohammad al-Emadi discussed with the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov the humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
Al-Quds said that scores of Israeli settlers barged their way to Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, where they performed rituals.
It added that US Democratic presidential candidates believe their country should condition its aid to Israel on the cessation of Israeli violations against Palestinians.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that Israeli forces conducted multiple raids across the West Bank, rounding up 22 Palestinians.
