Palestine head of mission to Washington meets US peace envoy prior to visit to region


WASHINGTON, August 16, 2017 (WAFA) – Palestine’s head of mission in Washington, Husam Zumlut, met on Tuesday with US peace envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt prior to the latter’s visit to the region on a new bid to achieve Palestinian-Israeli peace.

Zumlut told Greenblatt that the Palestinian leadership is ready to support US President Donald Trump’s efforts to solve the Palestinian issue.

The two discussed the upcoming visit for the peace team to the region, which is expected to take place at the end of the month.

The US team includes, in addition to Greenblatt, Trump’s senior advisor Jarod Kushner and Dina Powell, deputy National Security advisor.
