JERUSALEM, Sunday, January 19, 2019 (WAFA) – After summoning him this morning, the Israeli security ordered this afternoon the former Mufti of Jerusalem and current head of the Higher Islamic Council, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, off Al-Aqsa Mosque for one week, according to sources.
The security forces raided this morning Sabri’s home in occupied Jerusalem and handed him a note ordering him to appear at a Jerusalem police station for questioning regarding his Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which they claimed incited against the Israeli occupation.
Sabri, who often gives the Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa, was also told to appear at the police station in one week for further interrogation and possibly to extend his ban on entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam‘s third holiest site, for another week.
