RAMALLAH, March 25, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas and the Arab League Saturday mourned the passing of long-time Palestinian diplomat Ambassador Said Kamal.

Kamal, born in Nablus in the West Bank, was one of the founders of the Palestine Liberation Organization through the student movement in 1964.

He served as Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt and was its permanent representative to the Arab League as well before serving as the Arab League’s assistant secretary general.

Kamal died on Saturday in Cairo.
