Israeli forces detain child, injure two in Kafr Qaddum

QALQILIA, Friday, January 18, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Friday detained a Palestinian child after raiding his family‘s home, as well as injured two protesters during clashes in the village of Kafr Qaddum, the northern West Bank, local sources said.

Morad Shtewi, coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, said Israeli soldiers arrested Tareq Hekmat Shtewi, 14, after raiding the house of his family in the village and destroying its furniture.

Israeli soldiers also fired rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters at protesters taking part in the weekly anti-settlements protest in the village, injuring two protesters in the chest and foot respectively.

Almost every Friday, villagers from Kafr Qaddum and nearby towns organize a nonviolent protest against illegal Israeli settlements, and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road, which has been sealed by the occupation authorities for 15 years.
