Lawmaker among 8 Palestinians detained in West Bank raids


JERUSALEM, Tuesday, April 02, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early today 8 Palestinians, including a lawmaker, from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Hassan Yousef, a Hamas-affiliated lawmaker, was detained at his home in Beitunia town, west of Ramallah, in a pre-dawn raid that included ransacking his home. Yousef was detained many times in the past and spent several years in prison.

Soldiers also detained three Palestinian siblings from Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, in an operation that led to the army killing of a 23-year-old camp resident following outbreak of clashes.

In Izzariyeh, a town southeast of Jerusalem, soldiers detained a Palestinian man and his 15-year-old son.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli military raided Zububa village, northwest of Jenin, and detained a university student, and also Jalqamus village, southeast of Jenin, and detained a former prisoner, said the PPS.
