RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 20, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday overnight detained eight Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed that Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians from Abu Shkheidim and Ras Karkar villages, northwest of Ramallah.
Meanwhile, PPS said that three Palestinians were rounded up from the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
Security sources elaborated that Israeli military vehicles raided Askar refugee camp, where soldiers detained a Palestinian.
Sources added that a similar Israeli military raid was carried out in the Nablus neighborhoods of al-Jabal Ash-Shamali and al-Ein refugee camp, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.
In Bethlehem district, Israeli forces conducted a raid into Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
In the northern West Bank, an Israeli military force detained a Palestinian after ransacking his family’s house in Azzun town, east of Qalqiliya city.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
