General strike observed in Bethlehem to mourn slain Palestinian

 

BETHLEHEM, Thursday, March 21, 2019 (WAFA) – Palestinians are observing a general strike in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem to mourn a Palestinian killed by Israeli gunfire.

Heading a call from nationalist factions, Palestinians are observing a general strike to mourn the killing of 26-year-old Ahmad Manasra, who was killed by Israeli forces a day earlier at the entrance of al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem.

The strike would include all businesses, public transportation, schools and universities.

Ahmad Manasra’s death came a day after Israeli forces gunned down three other Palestinians and wounded more than ten others in the West Bank.

Raed Hamdan, 21, and Ziyad Nuri, 20, were killed by Israeli gunfire as Israeli forces escorted hundreds of settler into Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Israeli forces had also killed Omar Abu Leila when soldiers surrounded a house sheltering the 19-year-old Palestinian suspected of killing two Israelis and injuring a third two days earlier near the northern West Bank city of Salfit.
