Arab Parliament says Israel's plan to control Gaza a 'flagrant violation of international law'

CAIRO, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi said that the Israeli occupation's plan to impose control over the Gaza Strip represents a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, most notably the Geneva Conventions and Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.

He added in a statement issued by the Arab Parliament on Thursday that this plan, along with the ongoing horrific massacres committed daily against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip and in their displacement sites, which are their only refuge from the aggression, are a clear embodiment of a systematic aggressive policy aimed at imposing a new reality by force in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Yamahi warned that the occupation's implementation of such plans will only lead to further escalation and destabilization of the region, and will undermine all international and regional efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

He called on the international community, the Security Council, human rights and humanitarian organizations, and international and regional parliaments to assume their moral and legal responsibilities, take a serious and firm stance to halt these violations, hold the occupation accountable for its crimes, and take immediate action to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and allow unconditional access to aid.
