MOSCOW, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Moscow on Thursday at the official invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in the 80th anniversary celebrations marking the victory over Nazism.
Upon his arrival at the airport, President Abbas was received by Russian Presidential Envoy to the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov, along with staff from the Palestinian Embassy in Russia.
During his visit, President Abbas is scheduled to meet with President Putin and a number of other world leaders and dignitaries attending the commemoration events.
Accompanying the President on this visit are Executive Committee member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Ahmad Majdalani, Special Presidential Advisor Yasser Abbas, General Supervisor of Official Media Minister Ahmad Assaf, and Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal.
