GAZA, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Several civilians were killed and wounded early Thursday morning in the ongoing Israeli shelling of various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that the death toll from the Israeli shelling of a house belonging to the Rayan family near the Tal al-Rabi' School in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, has risen to five.
Rescue crews are still struggling to rescue a woman trapped under the rubble of the targeted house.
The sources added that a girl was killed and four others were wounded in Israeli artillery shelling of the tents of displaced persons west of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. A child was also wounded by Israeli gunfire in the foot near the Sumoud camp in Al-Mawasi.
Local sources said that two fishermen were wounded by Israeli naval fire in the sea off Khan Yunis, while Israeli artillery shelled the Al-Batn Al-Sameen area of the city.
The body of a child who went missing after the Israeli shelling of a school housing displaced persons in Al-Bureij camp two days ago was also found this morning. Since October 7, 2023, the occupation has been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza, leaving more than 171,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
