RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 26, 2019 (WAFA) –Hamdan Arda, 60, whose body was handed over to his family after being withheld for more than 40 days, and 18-year-old Ayman Hamed from Silwad, who was shot dead by Israeli army on Friday, were laid to rest on Saturday in their hometowns of Arraba and Silwad respectively in the West Bank.

Hundreds of Palestinians in Arraba town, near Jenin in the northern West Bank, took part in the military funeral procession of Arda while chanting slogans that condemned what they said was his extrajudicial killing by Israel forces in Ramallah in early December.

Governor of Jenin Akram Rajoub, who attended the funeral together with other political and security officials, condemned the Israeli crime and offered condolences to Arda’s family on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas.

Meanwhile, hundreds took part in the military funeral procession of slain Ayman Hamed in the village of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, and chanted slogans condemning Israeli army for what they said was cold-blooded murder.

Hamed was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in yet unclear circumstances outside his village on Friday evening.

Corpses of dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces are still withheld in Israeli mortuaries despite calls by human rights groups on Israel to release them for proper burial by their families.
