Palestinian injured as Israeli army clears area for settlers in north of West Bank

 

RAMALLAH, Monday, January 21, 2019 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian was injured early Monday during clashes with Israeli soldiers who attempted to clear an area of the city of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank for Jewish settlers seeking to reach a spot in the city they claim to be sacred, according to local and medical sources.

The Ministry of\Health said a young man was injured in the thigh from a live bullet fired by the Israeli army and taken to hospital for treatment. He was reported in stable condition.

Army units had raided the eastern part of Nablus to secure Joseph’s Tomb for a visit by the settlers.

Residents clashed with the soldiers who fired live bullets and tear gas at the young Palestinians causing one injury from a live bullet and several others from tear gas and rubber bullets, said the local sources.
