RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 12, 2019 (WAFA) – The Israeli army killing of a 43-year-old woman in Gaza near the border fence with Israel and the injury of 25 others were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on Saturday.
In the West Bank, the papers said many were injured from Israeli army bullets and settler attacks.
They also said a Palestinian was injured in Hebron, in the south of the West Bank, when shot by soldiers after an alleged stabbing attack.
The papers printed pictures of the weekly border protests in Gaza and the West Bank.
They also reported on the protests in Haifa, northern Israel, against display of pictures of Jesus Christ and Mary that were deemed insulting to Christians. The papers said Israeli police attacked the protesters and dispersed them with force.
Al-Quds quoted the Palestinian government criticizing Israeli incursions in the West Bank cities, the last was in Ramallah and near the Prime Minister’s office and government complex.
It quoted the Imam at Al-Aqsa Mosque warning in the Friday sermon that the Mosque is in danger and that Israeli calls for destroying the historic wall of the Old City of Jerusalem are racist.
It said in a report from its correspondent in Washington that a study showed clear bias in the US media against the Palestinians.
Al-Quds said an Egyptian security delegation arrived in Ramallah for talks on return of the Palestinian Authority staff to Rafah crossing with Egypt, who were pulled out last week in protest against Hamas measures.
Al-Ayyam said on this subject that the Egyptian delegation gave assurances and promises in Gaza on calm, reconciliation and Rafah crossing.
It said in another story that there was growing silence in Israel against rising Jewish terrorism against Palestinians.
It said police arrested the thieves who robbed the Jordan National Bank branch in Beit Sahour in the south of the West Bank, and that a wanted criminal who was sentence to three years was also arrested in Qalqilya in the north of the West Bank.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Foreign Minister Riyad Malki attended the inauguration ceremony for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
It said the mother of a Palestinian died hours his release from Israeli prison after serving a 16-year-sentence for resisting the Israeli occupation.
