HEBRON, Thursday, January 10, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday conducted multiple predawn raids across the West Bank, detaining at least 15 Palestinians, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli military vehicles stormed several neighborhoods in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, where soldiers ransacked a number of houses, seized cash and detained two Palestinians.

Forces also raided Idhna and Deir Samet towns, west and southwest of Hebron, detaining two Palestinians and thoroughly searching a number of houses.

In Dura town, soldiers detained two Palestinians after assaulting and interrogating them.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, including a 15- and 16-year-old minors, from Kufr Qaddum town, east of Qalqilia.

Meanwhile, soldiers rounded up three former prisoners after storming their houses in Jenin city and refugee camp.

A similar military raid was carried out in Yaabad town, southwest of Jenin, resulting in the detention of a former prisoner.

In Ramallah district, two minors, aged 14 and 17, were rounded up from Kufr Ni‘ma village, west of Ramallah city.

Another Palestinian was detained during a similar overnight raid in Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem.

A similar military raid was reported in Madama village, south of Nablus, where soldiers seized two vehicles belonging to a former prisoner and his father.

Israeli forces frequently conduct large-scale overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

Clashes often erupt between Palestinian youth who attempt to block soldiers’ passage, throwing stones and empty bottles and are met with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters, often resulting in serious, sometimes fatal, injuries.

According to Palestinian figures, some 6,500 Palestinians continue to languish in Israeli detention facilities, including scores of women and hundreds of minors.
