Prime Minister says it’s time to hold Israel accountable for its actions

RAMALLAH, Monday, December 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said on Monday that the time has come to hold Israel accountable for its actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, while calling on the international community to take actual steps and mechanisms to provide international protection for the Palestinian people suffering from daily attacks by the Israeli army and settlers.

He said at a meeting in Ramallah for the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics that Israel is working at an accelerated pace to expand its colonial settlement project in the occupied lands.

He said Israel has increased its incursions into Palestinian cities, towns and villages, kills and detains innocent people, targets official institutions and medical and media personnel, terrorizes families and demolishes homes. At the same time, added the Prime Minister, it continues to incite against President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people as a whole.

“The time has come to put an end to Israel‘s impunity from accountability and to end its occupation and aggression, save the two-state solution and enable our people to establish its sovereign state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its eternal capital,” said Hamdallah.
