RAMALLAH, Saturday, December 15, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli army’s heavy use of tear gas during its operation in Amari refugee camp in Ramallah has reached Ramallah Medical Complex and affected its patients, director of the medical complex, Ahmad Beitawi, said in a statement on Saturday.
He said that tear gas shot by the Israeli soldiers has affected many patients at the hospital, causing serious problems from suffocation mainly among children and women.
He said large quantity of gas has reached the hospital wards, which he stressed was a violation of all international laws and conventions.
Minister of Health Jawad Awwad said an urgent appeal was sent to the World Health Organization, international health organizations, the Red Cross, humanitarian and rights organizations, the United Nations and the international community urging them to immediately intervene to protect the Palestinian people, the medical staff, ambulances and clinics from the continuous Israeli aggression against them and to put a stop to targeting of hospitals and their patients.
