RAMALLAH, September 29, 2018 (WAFA) – Ahmad Mousa al-Haj, from Beit Sira village, west of Ramallah, was set free on Saturday after completing 17 years in Israeli prisons for resisting the occupation, according to the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission.

It said al-Haj was brought to a checkpoint in the south of the West Bank after being released from the desert prison in the Naqab south of Israel.

Dozens of family members and friends were waiting for him at the checkpoint and gave him a big welcome after he arrived on the West Bank side of the checkpoint.

Over 6000 Palestinians are held in Israeli prison for resisting the occupation, many of them serving several life terms.
