RAMALLAH, August 15, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Council, the second highest decision making body in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), kicks off its 29th round on Wednesday evening in Ramallah and will open the two-day meeting with a keynote speech by President Mahmoud Abbas.
The meeting, dubbed “the Martyr Razan Najjar and the Transition from Authority to Statehood,” will open at 6 in the evening and will include on its agenda several topics, most important drawing a mechanism to transform the Palestinian Authority from an authority into a state and redefining political, security and economic relations with Israel.
It will also discuss intra-Palestinian reconciliation and other issues such of Jerusalem and refugees after the US change of policy toward them.
Central Council secretariat said 135 invitations were sent out to it members, including some from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, who are not members in the PLO but have members in the Palestinian Legislative Council that gives them automatic membership in the Central Council.
