Israel denies exit of WAFA correspondent to Hajj

JERUSALEM, August 10, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities banned on Thursday the exit of WAFA correspondent Rasem Abdul-Wahed through Karamah border crossing, on Palestine-Jordan border, while he was on his way to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, the Muslim annual pilgrimage.

Abdul-Wahed was joining the official Palestinian media delegation to Hajj when he was informed by the Israeli border control at Karamah border crossing that he was banned from traveling for “security” reasons.

Abdul-Wahed, who has been working as WAFA correspondent in Jerusalem for 23 years, has previously been denied exit from the West Bank by the Israeli occupation authorities.
