RAMALLAH, August 9, 2018 (WAFA) – An Israeli military court held at Ofer prison near Ramallah on Thursday ordered the release of four Palestinian journalists detained earlier this month but a fifth was kept in detention, according to Abdul Nasser Noubani, an attorney with the Palestinian Prisoner‘s Society (PPS).
He said the court ordered the release of Mohammad Sami Ulwan, Qutaiba Hamdan, Husni Injas and Ibrahim Rantisi after paying a bail of around $1300 each.
The fifth, Alaa Rimawi, remained behind bars until the court convenes again on Wednesday to consider his case.
The same court had ordered the release of the journalist on Wednesday with the same conditions but the Israeli military prosecutor appealed the ruling, which was suspended for 24 hours.
