JERUSALEM, July 8, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Sunday placed mobile homes in Wadi Al-Jir area in Abu Dis town to the east of occupied Jerusalem for the relocation of Khan al-Ahmar’s residents, a Palestinian Bedouin community slated for demolition by the Israeli forces to expand the illegal Israeli settlement of Maale Adumin.
Witnesses said Israeli forces placed mobile homes (caravans) in the said area, in order to relocate the Palestinian residents of Khan al-Ahmar community there. Khan al-Ahmar Bedouin community is slated for demolition on the grounds that the homes were built without Israeli-issued permits.
Jerusalemite activist, Hani Halabiyeh, said Israeli forces blocked a number of streets in the towns of al-Izariyeh and Abu Dis, which lead to Khan al-Ahmar community, before proceeding to place the mobile homes.
WAFA correspondent in Jerusalem said Israeli bulldozers began since the early morning hours and under tight police cordon to level and open access roads that lead to Khan al-Ahmar community.
