RAMALLAH, May 26, 2018 (WAFA) – One Palestinian died on Friday of his wounds sustained during one of the protests at the Gaza border with Israel and over 100 were injured in this Friday’s protests, the three Palestinian Arabic dailies reported in their top front page story in their Saturday issue.
They said while the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the protests on March 30 has reached 115 (on Saturday they reached 116 as another Gaza protester has died of his wounds), the number of wounded has exceeded the 13,000 mark, hundreds reported in critical conditions.
Al-Quds said France provided medical teams working in Gaza financial aid and the Israeli Supreme Court gave the green light to the army to continue to shoot and kill Palestinians during the Gaza border protests.
It said also that the United Nations is coordinating a four-way meeting between the Palestinian Authority, Israel, Egypt and the UN to draw mechanism to solve the critical humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
It said also in a report by its Washington correspondent that the US administration is reconsidering the amount and mechanism for disbursement of US aid to the Palestinians.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli settlers cut trees and attacked Palestinians in the south of the West Bank.
It said that preliminary results in the death of Palestinian prisoner in Israel showed that cause of death was a heart attack resulting from brutal assault.
It said in another story by Reuters quoting a Palestinian physician that there is no specific date for releasing President Mahmoud Abbas from hospital, where he is getting treatment for lung infection.
It said over 200,000 Muslims attended the second Friday of Ramadan prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
