JERUSALEM, March 5, 2018 (WAFA) – Palestinian residents of Silwan, an East Jerusalem neighborhood, expressed concern on Monday regarding Israeli excavations under their homes, according to Wadi Hilweh Information Center.
It said residents confronted Israeli settlers who were digging tunnels under their homes in an attempt to reach the wall of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The settlers called the Israeli police to intervene on their behalf and keep the Palestinians away. Police threatened to arrest the Palestinians if they try to stop the settlers’ from digging.
The residents said the continuous excavations under their homes in Wadi Hilweh area of Silwan in order to build tunnels that lead to Old City wall cause cracks in the walls and damage their homes, fearing that it could cause their homes to collapse.
