UPDATE: Man Shot by Israeli forces at Gaza border dies of wounds

GAZA, March 3, 2018 (WAFA) – A Palestinian farmer who was shot and injured by Israeli forces’ gunfire to the east of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, earlier on Saturday succumbed to his wounds, said sources.

Israeli forces stationed at a military watchtower along the border with Gaza reportedly opened live fire at the farmer, identified as 59-year-old Mohammed Ata Abu Jame, while he was working in his farm, shooting him in the back.

He was rushed to hospital for medical treatment before he succumbed to his wounds hours later.

Israel has imposed a 300-meter buffer zone inside the Gaza Strip along their common border preventing Palestinians from reaching their lands near the border fence. It regularly opens fire at anyone who enters that buffer zone.
