RAMALLAH, March 3, 2018 (WAFA) – Nationalist and Islamic forces in Ramallah called on Saturday for a big demonstration at Qalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah on Wednesday marking International Women’s Day, which coincides on Thursday.
The forces called in a statement on the public to participate in the demonstration “in rejection of (US President Donald) Trump’s declaration (on Jerusalem) and to stress that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.”
Trump recognized Jerusalem as capital of Israel on December 6 prompting wide-scale and ongoing Palestinian protests.
The forces also called for a protest on Friday at the DCO/Beit El checkpoint at the northern entrance to Ramallah following the Friday prayer and “an escalation at all contact points with the occupation forces and its settlers.”
