RAMALLAH, February 28, 2018 (WAFA) – After barring a mother from leaving the Gaza Strip on Tuesday to accompany her daughter for a kidney transplant at a Ramallah hospital, the Israeli military retracted on Wednesday its earlier decision and gave permission for the mother to be with her daughter in Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Civil Affairs office.
Salwa Attar wanted to be with her daughter, Anaam, 12, when she undergoes kidney transplant at Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah. However, the Israeli military government gave a permit for the child to leave Gaza to Ramallah but not the mother.
Anaam has been in and out of hospitals in Gaza since birth getting kidney treatment. She has survived on only a quarter kidney functioning waiting all these years for a donor.
The Civil Affairs said it was able to extract a permit for Salwa to leave Gaza to be with her daughter when she undergoes the critical surgery in Ramallah.
