RAMALLAH, February 20, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli military authority issued 17 administration detention orders against Palestinians ranging in time between two to six months, Mahmoud Halabi, an attorney with the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, said on Tuesday.
Nine of the orders were issued against Palestinians detained for the first time or were detained once then released and re-detained. The rest have had their administrative detention renewed.
With the last 17 orders, Israel has 64 administration orders against Palestinians since the beginning of this month.
According to statistics by the Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association, the total number of Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails is over 6000, with 450 of them being are administrative detainees.
