NABLUS, February 9, 2018 (WAFA) – At least four Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire during clashes with Israeli forces at Huwwara checkpoint, to the south of Nablus, and in the nearby villages of Beita and Madama, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC).
Forces used live fire to disperse Palestinian teenagers who were protesting at Huwwara checkpoint against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, injuring two of them with live fire.
Israeli army also used live fire disperse Palestinian protesters at the entrance to the village of Beita, nearby, injuring one of them.
A fourth Palestinian teenager was also injured by shrapnel of a stun grenade which was shot by Israeli soldiers to suppress similar clashes in the village of Madama, to the southwest of Nablus.
The four who were injured were moved to hospital for medical treatment.
Several other protesters also suffocated when the forces used teargas to disperse them at Huwwara checkpoint and in Madama and Burin.
Clashes further erupted at other points of friction in the occupied West Bank and along Gaza‘s border with Israel in a continuing response to US President Donald Trump‘s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel‘s capital in December 6, 2017.
