WASHINGTON, January 28, 2018 (WAFA) – Head of the General Delegation of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to the United States, Husam Zumlot, reiterated rejection of any negotiations that is not based on ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He told Voice of Palestine radio on Sunday that Jerusalem lies at the core of the Palestinian issue and of any future peace settlement.

Regarding US threats to impose more sanctions on the Palestinians, Zumlot confirmed that “financial blackmail will not work out”.

He noted that despite of the considerable pressures exerted on the Palestinian leadership, it will not hesitate to prioritize the Palestinian rights over financial aid.

Commenting on news leaks by the Israeli media that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked US President Donald Trump to accelerate the closure of the PLO mission in Washington, Zumlot confirmed that this is “part of Netanyahu’s illusion and incitement carried out to liquidate the Palestinian issue.”
