QALQILYA, January 17, 2018 (WAFA) – A number of Palestinians suffered on Wednesday from tear gas inhalation during clashes with Israeli forces who protected Jewish settlers as they attacked Azzoun, a village east of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank, according to Palestinian security sources.
The sources told WAFA that Palestinians confronted dozens of Jewish settlers who attacked Azzoun. Israeli forces in the area intervened to protect the settlers and opened fire at the Palestinians causing several injuries from tear gas inhalation.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews dealt with 70 cases in Azzoun, some hit by rubber-coated metal bullets and the rest from tear gas. It said all were treated at the location.
The Israeli forces cut off electricity from the village apparently to facilitate the settlers’ attack, said the sources.
