Colonists attack Palestinian home in Jalud, south of Nablus

NABLUS, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked a Palestinian home early Friday morning in the village of Jalud, southeast of Nablus, in another escalation of violence targeting civilians in the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian security sources reported that a group of colonists threw Molotov cocktails at the home of Mohammad Hashem, damaging the exterior walls. No injuries were reported, but the attack left the family shaken, as it occurred in the early hours while residents were asleep inside.

The incident is the latest in a pattern of systematic assaults by Israeli colonists on Palestinian communities, carried out with growing frequency and often under Israeli military protection.

Since the beginning of 2025, colonists have committed 2,153 attacks across the West Bank, resulting in the killing of four Palestinians, according to official records. The attacks have included arson, shootings, road ambushes, assaults on civilians, vandalism of property, and the establishment of unauthorized colonial outposts.

Victims of these attacks are frequently left without recourse, as Israeli authorities rarely prosecute perpetrators. Human rights organizations continue to warn that the violence is part of a broader effort to displace Palestinian communities and consolidate control over strategic areas in the West Bank.

Recent months have seen a marked increase in these coordinated campaigns by colonists, often under the protection or direct cover of Israeli occupation forces. The assaults have especially intensified in villages around Nablus and Ramallah, including Kafr Malik, al-Mughayyir, Beita, and Sinjil, where property destruction and acts of terror against civilians have become a near-daily reality.
