OHCHR: 1,373 Palestinians killed since May while waiting for aid in Gaza

NEW YORK, August 1, 2025 (WAFA) – The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced today, Friday, that 1,373 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces since May 27 while waiting for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.

In a press release issued by its office in the occupied Palestinian Territory, the UN Human Rights Office stated that 859 people were killed in the vicinity of Gaza Relief Foundation sites, and 514 along the routes of food convoys, adding that most of these killings were committed by the Israeli military.

The office further noted that within just two days—July 30 and 31—reports documented the killing of 105 Palestinians and the injury of at least 680 others along aid convoy routes in northern Gaza, in southern Khan Yunis, and near Gaza Relief Foundation sites in central Gaza and Rafah.

The statement stressed that shooting and shelling by Israeli forces continued along food convoy routes and near Gaza Relief Foundation locations, despite the Israeli army's announcement on July 27 of a limited pause in military operations to facilitate humanitarian response.
