RAMALLAH, November 22, 2017 (WAFA) - The Secretary General of the Presidency Tayeb Abdel-Rahim Wednesday received a delegation from the Israeli group Rabbis for Peace who arrived in Ramallah to deliver a petition to end the Israeli occupation.
The petition, which was signed by 50 Rabbis, calls on Israel to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and urges the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume peace talks.
Abdel-Rahim said it is indispensable that Israel ends the occupation so Palestinians are able to establish their state based on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
He praised the Rabbis for their efforts to support peace, which is not only a Palestinian interest, but an Israeli one as well.
A member of the delegation said he is ashamed of the Israeli community, which leans towards extremism and added that it is vital that Israelis cooperate with the Palestinian leadership and President Mahmoud Abbas who believes in true peace and justice for the Palestinian people.
