Israeli forces detain 19 Palestinians from West Bank, Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, November 14, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained 19 Palestinians, including children, in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and WAFA correspondents.

Israeli forces detained two Palestinians after storming their family homes in Qaffin, northeast of Tulkarem.

They detained four others during similar raids across Tulkarem district in the northern West Bank.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, forces raided Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, where they detained three Palestinians, including a former prisoner.

This came as troops briefly held two minors during a raid into Jenin-district village of Taybeh.

The minors, aged 11 and 14, were briefly held and interrogated at a military outpost near the village purportedly for hurling stones at the troops during the raid.

Troops also conducted a similar raid that sparked clashes in Anzah village, southwest of Jenin.

During the raid, troops deployed near a local secondary school, where they fired tear gas canisters at residents causing several light suffocation cases.

Another Palestinian was detained as he attempted to pass a flying military checkpoint to the north of Toubas. The detainee was reportedly a resident of Toubas.

In the central West Bank, troops detained two Palestinians during raids across Ramallah district.

In Jerusalem city, Israeli police detained four minors after breaking into and ransacking their family homes in East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

Three others were handcuffed and detained during subsequent raids across Hebron district.
