Consumer Price Index up in October

 

RAMALLAH, November 14, 2017 (WAFA) - The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during October increased by 0.20% compared with September,  the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Tuesday.

CPI increased by 0.65% in Gaza Strip and by 0.08% in Jerusalem area not annexed by Israel, while it slightly decreased by 0.08% in the West Bank.

When compared to October of last year, CPI increased by 0.97% at a rate of 2.37% in Gaza Strip, and 1.30% in Jerusalem, while it decreased by 0.16% in the West Bank.

The CPI increased during the first 10 months of this year by 0.19% compared with the same period of the previous year. The increase was 2.35% in Jerusalem and by 0.11% in the West Bank, while it slightly decreased by 0.01% in Gaza Strip.

The changes in CPI for October 2017 are traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month:
