Abbas arrives in Kuwait to attend conference on suffering of Palestinian children under occupation

KUWAIT, November 11, 2017 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas Saturday arrived in Kuwait to attend the conference on the suffering of the Palestinian children under Israeli occupation, to be held on Sunday in Kuwait.

The two-day conference, themed "the suffering of the Palestinian children amid violations by Israel, the occupation power, of the Convention on the Rights of the Child," will address reality of the Palestinian children under International Law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child; the role of the society and civil organizations for boosting the rights of the Palestinian children; the deteriorating educational, health and psychological conditions of the Palestinian children detained in Israel‘s prisons.

It will also address the legal protection of the Palestinian children under the Israeli occupation, and setting mechanisms to activate it, the the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reorted on sunday.

 President Abbas met with Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, who will also be attending the conference, and briefed him on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and the national reconciliation.

He is also set to hold official talks with the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
