RAMALLAH, November 6, 2017 (WAFA) – The Israeli military announcement that it has retrieved and is holding the bodies of five Palestinians killed when it blew up a Gaza tunnel last week hit the front page headlines in Palestinian Arabic dailies on Monday.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported the Israeli military announced that it has unearthed and is now holding the bodies of five Palestinians killed when it destroyed the tunnel adjacent to Gaza-Israel borders.
Al-Ayyam reported officials from Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements decrying the withholding of the bodies as a “new crime added to the previous Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.”
On the other hand, al-Hayat al-Jadida reported President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his solidarity with Saudi Arabia following the ballistic missile attack that targeted Riyadh airport from Yemen.
Developments in Saudi Arabia and the arrest of dozens of officials and businessmen were also highlighted in al-Ayyam and al-Quds, with al-Ayyam describing it as Tsunami.
Al-Ayyam added Abbas arrived in Egypt’s Sharm el Sheikh to participate in the World Youth Forum 2017.
Quoting Israeli media reports, al-Quds said Israeli Jewish settler group Ateret Cohanim offered Greek Orthodox Patriarch $4.5 million for East Jerusalem’s landmark Petra Hotel and ended up paying half a million.
Member of PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat was reported in al-Quds stating international solidarity has played a key role in supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle against Israeli occupation.

Furthermore, al-Ayyam reported an Israeli ministerial committee has advanced a draft law to isolate Palestinian neighborhoods from East Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported Israeli occupation authorities have drafted a plan to intensify security control over Jerusalem’s Old City.
Al-Ayyam reported on its front page on the attack in a church in Texas that left 26 people dead.
