BETHLEHEM, November 1, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday cracked down on a rally protesting the Balfour Declaration in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Palestinian rallied at the northern entrance of Bethlehem city in protest of the centennial anniversary of the infamous Balfour Declaration.
Israeli forces attacked the protesters, injuring one with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the leg and causing others to suffocate from teargas inhalation.
The Balfour Declaration promised the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, which led to the displacement and uprooting of the indigenous Palestinian people and replaced them with another people.
The Palestinian people continue to demand from the British government a formal apology to redress the victims of the declaration in addition to compensation and to recognize the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
