RAMALLAH, November 1, 2017 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah discussed on Wednesday at his office in Ramallah with the Governor-General of New Zealand, Patsy Reddy, the latest political developments and national reconciliation.

Hamdallah praised New Zealand‘s support for the Palestinian cause and its vote in favor of Palestine in several international forums, the latest of which was Security Council resolution 2334, in addition to supporting Palestine through UNRWA, UNICEF and many international organizations.

He stressed that Israel plans through its settlement expansion, especially in Jerusalem, to consolidate its military occupation and eliminate the two-state solution.

He pointed out that without a solution to the Palestinian cause and achieving two states, peace and stability in the entire region will not be achieved.

He said that the international community should pressure Israel to abide by the requirements of peace and be a serious partner in peace.

The Prime Minister briefed his guest on the latest developments in the Palestinian reconciliation and the government‘s takeover of the crossings of the Gaza Strip. He said that all was left is for Israel to end its siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for more than 10 years.
