Israeli forces detain 21 Palestinians in the West Bank

 

RAMALLAH, November 1, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 21 Palestinians from several areas in the occupied West Bank, according to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

The PPS said that Israeli forces detained five Palestinians from the town of Qabatiya, in the district of Jenin, and three from Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem.

Soldiers also detained three citizens, including two minors, from the district of Hebron after raiding their homes and stealing jewelry from one of them.

A female journalist and two more Palestinians from the district of Ramallah were detained. Moreover, forces detained one from Tulkarm, one from Qalqilya, one from the town of Beit Daqqu in the Jerusalem area and two from Nablus.

Meanwhile, the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission confirmed that the Israeli military prosecution in the Israeli prison of Ofer has issued and renewed administrative detention order against 17 Palestinian prisoners for various periods ranging between 3 to 6 months.

According to a report by Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association, the total number of Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons is 6,297, including 300 minors and 65 females, with 465 of them being held in administrative detainees.
