NABLUS, November 1, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Wednesday stole olive harvest from lands belonging to the village of Deir Sharaf, to the west of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank, said a local source.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that residents of Deir Sharaf found out that settlers stole their olive harvest after they accessed their lands located inside the fence surrounding the illegal Israeli settlement of Shavi Shomron.
He said that the total amount of the olive trees whose olive fruits were stolen by settlers is 280 trees.
Last week, settlers stole olive harvest from lands belonging to the village of Awarta, to the east of the city of Nablus.
Palestinians look forward to the annual olive harvest season, which is a major income source for thousands of Palestinian families in the West Bank.
In addition to stealing olive harvest from farmers, many areas planted with olive trees are closed to farmers due to their proximity to Jewish settlements or fall behind the Israeli apartheid wall and barrier.
